Magnus Carlsen quits chess after just one move

Incredible fact. Magnus Carlsen, world chess champion for those who don't know, gave up a game of Blitz after just one move.

Questioned at a press conference by our special correspondents, he enigmatically revealed that “the chessboard was wrong”. He then added: “I was in a position of failure from the start. It's intolerable.” It's difficult to make sense of this sentence, but we were able to observe a photograph of the chessboard in question before the start of the game.

Magnus, with white, wanted to play d4. But the knight can't move backwards. So he tried to play King c3, a little-known gambit. As this move put him in a position of failure, he decided to give up instead. It's sad, but that's life. Don't commit suicide. And this article doesn't make sense, as you're thinking.
